“The universe is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.”
–Eden Phillpotts
I am an artist and craftswoman living in Reisterstown, Maryland with my Pirate Husband our 2 magical daughters.
As an artist and all around crafty -lady, I strive to create everyday. I find sustenance in many realms of creativity—fiber, painting, drawing, cooking, sewing, the garden…. I especially find aesthetic inspiration in the company of my family. I endeavor to be a lifelong student of Art in its many forms, and believe that the act of living an artful and ART-full life is essential to my spirited existence.
My present work is primarily with fiber. I love to dye yarn and fiber, to create blended fiber batts and spin yarn in both traditional and “art-yarn” techniques.
I also teach classes in fiber arts, fine arts, and craft. I have a degree in Art and Education. I believe that everyone is born with the gifts of imagination and creativity. As a teacher, I love to help people who have forgotten or misplaced these gifts to rediscover them.
There is a guiding principle that I hold to in creating, teaching and living:
“Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.” Charles Mingus
