oh – my
twitchy witchy girl
i think you are so nice,
i give you bowls of porridge
and i give you bowls of ice
cream.
i give
you lots of kisses,
and i give you lots of hugs,
but i never give you sandwiches
with bugs
in.
Saw it last night and had splendiferous dreams. It was so gorgeously done! I saw it in the company of 2 ten yr old Colaline freaks– who came with tins of black buttons, just in case.
Just wonderful.
http://coraline.com/ The website is really great — and did you know that on it– hidden away– is a pattern for Coraline sweater?? If you need a hint as to where to find it– let me know. You can also find it via ravelry– but it’s not half the entertainment. The girls of course were begging for one as soon as they saw it. ( they spend a great deal of time on the coline site). I am not convinced that the stars are cool enough. The sweater in the movie has a wonderful shimmer and the stars are irridescent, In the pattern she chooses a white velour as a sub. I think that if I make it I will dye and spin a shimmery wool and also needle felt some sparkly stars. How’s that. If only I were Molly Weasley and could just set me magic needles to knitting it for me. Or the TWO that will be required.
There is also a ysolda Coraline pattern named after that is quite lovely. The movie knitting by mad-knitter Althea Crome is completely awe-some as are all of the textures and surfaces of the movie. One of my favorite things was the little blimp of Mr. B.– I wish for one of them hovering about my world!
