Over the past month or so I have had the pleasure of taking part in a really interesting art & writing project created by my darling friend Amy Souza.
About the project:
In September 2008, twelve writers and thirteen visual artists embarked upon this Art & Writing Project to find inspiration from one another. To begin, writers sent artists a story or poem, and artists sent writers a painting or photograph. Working over two days only, each person used their partner’s piece as a jumping off point for new work of their own. The results are displayed on this site.
There were 24 contributors from various locales. As of now there is no actual, real-life exhibition planned, all work will be virtually exhibited.
Here were my submissions. If you check out the site, you can read the inspiration and response associated with them. Spend some time exploring the art & writing in the project– you’ll be inspired too! You will find work by Jimmy there as well.
If you are an artist or writer and would like to participate next round– drop Amy a line. I am sure she’d love to hear from you.
